Online Registration Requirements

When you register for the National GAT, follow the following procedures.

  1. Apply for GAT: (a) using the Addis Ababa University portal (portal.aau.edu.et), or (b) using Telebirr SuperApp.
  2. Complete the online application form (select the exam location that you plan to take the test; supply your legal name as it appears on your ID/Passport; select your sex; indicate your disability type (if applicable); include your valid phone number and e-mail address; upload acceptable photo of yourself that will match how you look on test day; and click on submit button).
  3. Pay the GAT fee of 1000 (one thousand) birr using only Telebirr payment system (Once click on the Submit button, Telebirr page will be displayed for payment).
  4. Download the GAT Admission Ticket (this confirms the success of your application for GAT; you will also receive an e-mail message confirming the application was successfully done).

The deadline for applying the national GAT is October 06, 2023 at 05:30 p.m. Find test dates at http://www.aau.edu.et/ and https://t.me/aauGAT

Before Test Day

  • Prepare for the digital GAT (read the brochure at http://www.aau.edu.et/blog/national- graduate-admission-test-gat-brochure/ and take mock exam - the full-length digital GAT practice test).
  • Print your GAT Admission Ticket.
  • Make ready your identification document.
  • Prepare materials for testing, such as a four-function calculator and writing implements (pen or pencil).
  • Check for your exam schedule at http://www.aau.edu.et/ and https://t.me/aauGAT

On Test Day

Bring these things:

  • GAT Admission Ticket
  • Acceptable ID/ Passport o An acceptable calculator o Pen or pencil
  • A face mask, just in case

Don’t bring these things

  • Electronic devices, such as smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, laptops, and any other electronic devices that can store or access information.

  • Devices or tools that provide internet access, such as Wi-Fi routers or portable hotspots, are generally not allowed. Any device capable of communication, including but not limited to, headphones, earphones, Bluetooth devices, or any other device that can transmit or receive information.

  • Books, notes, or study materials

  • Unauthorized calculators

  • Unauthorized aids , such as rulers, protractors, compasses, or formula sheets Arrive in time:

  • Plan to arrive by 8:00 a.m. (if you are assigned for morning sessions) and 1:00 p.m. (if you are assigned for afternoon sessions).
